Charing House

Charing House provides personal and nursing care to up to 88 people, including those living with dementia, people needing nursing and residential care, and people with learning disabilities. At inspection, 77 people were using the service. Staff understood people's needs, with care plans and risk assessments in place to inform support. There were sufficient staff to keep people safe, and staff supported people to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

People were supported to take part in activities and pursue their interests, visiting the local park and going to the local town to shop. People who received medicines to support their mental health had these reviewed. However, medicines management was not always in line with best practice guidance, with medicine administration records not always fully completed and guidance for staff not always in place.
