About Charing House

Charing House is a nursing home in Medway, offering personal care and accommodation across several floors. The findings below set out what the CQC observed during its most recent inspection.

Charing House provides personal care and accommodation for up to 88 people across three floors, including a top floor designated for people with a learning disability or autistic people. The CQC found the ground and first floors provided safe, kind care with good medicines management and a clean, well-maintained environment, with residents and relatives speaking positively about staff and management.

However, inspectors found the top floor did not consistently meet the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture principles, with limited choice, independence and community access for people living there. The service was found in breach of regulations relating to safe care, person-centred care and governance, and rated Requires Improvement overall.
