Oaklands Nursing Home

Oaklands Nursing Home provides personal and nursing care for up to 39 people across an adapted house with extensions. Communal facilities including lounges and dining areas are located on the ground floor, with accommodation spread across three levels.

Inspectors found that people were not always supported to remain safe. Hot radiators had not been adequately protected, fire safety management was inconsistent, and identified risks were not always properly monitored. Risk assessment tools produced differing findings between staff, and the recording of cream applications needed improvement. Infection control practices also required strengthening to prevent risks to residents. However, the home maintained sufficient staffing levels with appropriate recruitment procedures in place. The registered manager and staff demonstrated awareness of safeguarding procedures and received training, with staff reporting they felt supported by management.
