Brockington House Care Community

Brockington House Care Community provides personal care and nursing to up to 70 people, including those with dementia, across two floors with lift access. At inspection, 55 people were using the service. The home offers en suite bedrooms alongside communal bathrooms, lounges, dining rooms, and outdoor space on each floor. Residents reported feeling safe, with one person noting that "staff are out and about all the time when I wake up at night, I see them about, they make sure my window and doors are secured." Safe recruitment processes are in place, and all staff receive induction and shadowing.

However, improvements were needed in documentation and governance. People did not always have detailed care plans and risk assessments, which could impact the quality of support staff provide. The home had begun sharing learning from incidents with staff to prevent recurrence, but needed to strengthen systems to analyse accidents and incidents for trends and patterns. The registered manager began implementing improved governance systems during the inspection.
