About Oaklands

Oaklands is a nursing home in Northumberland, providing care for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Oaklands is a care home providing residential and nursing care for up to 15 adults with learning disabilities and autism. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following an inspection prompted by concerns about care, staffing and management. Inspectors found no evidence people had been harmed, but medicines were not always managed safely, with records to support safe administration missing or out of date, and management oversight had not caught these gaps.

Elsewhere, the CQC found positive practice. Staff were described as caring and person-centred, supporting people to access healthcare, community activities and even holidays. A relative said they were content with the stable, fulfilled life their son had at the home.
