Lowgate Care Home

Lowgate Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 42 people with physical and mental health conditions. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to medicines management and quality assurance systems. There was no registered manager in post at the time, following recent management changes, though a new manager had begun to identify and address some concerns.

Despite this, inspectors found staff to be kind, compassionate and attentive, with enough of them to meet people's needs. People and their relatives spoke positively about the quality of care, feeling safe and well supported. Visitors were welcomed warmly, often joining meals and activities, though improvements from recent changes still needed to be embedded and monitored over time.
