Oaklands (Essex) is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 55 older people. At the time of the assessment, 40 people were being supported. The CQC found that people and relatives felt safe and well cared for, describing staff as kind and friendly, with meaningful activities, free access to the garden, and a popular monthly dementia cafe for families.
Inspectors rated the home Good overall, with Safe, Effective, Caring and Responsive all rated Good. However, Well-led was rated Requires Improvement, indicating shortfalls in the leadership and management of the service that need addressing.
