About Oaklands

Oaklands is a nursing home in Brighton and Hove, providing personal care and nursing support for older people. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Oaklands provides personal care and nursing to 20 people aged 65 and over. People and their families described the care as safe, with staff trained in recognising and responding to abuse concerns. Risk assessments are in place and regularly reviewed with residents and families, with effective measures implemented to minimise avoidable harm.

The home maintains good infection control standards and administers medicines safely, though the manager identified a need to provide clearer guidance for 'as and when' medicines to ensure consistent administration. Accident and incident records are reviewed by management to reflect on practice and improve care delivery. Staffing levels are flexible and adjusted to meet residents' changing needs.
