Oakdene

Oakdene provides personal care for up to 40 adults living with enduring mental health needs, including those subject to Mental Health Act provisions and people who may abuse drugs and alcohol. At the time of inspection, 39 adults were receiving care. Staff were working to improve individualised care planning to better reflect people's care needs, preferred daily routines, and lifestyle interests. While people's individual choice and control were not fully promoted in relation to communal living arrangements and mental health support planning, improvements were underway in these areas.

Residents were mostly happy with their care and daily living arrangements and understood how to raise complaints or concerns. The service met accessibility information standards and had systems in place to support people's wishes and decision-making. Safeguarding, staffing, medicines management, and risk management arrangements helped protect people from harm or abuse. Infection prevention and control measures were also in place to protect residents' health.
