Newhaven

Newhaven is a residential care home providing personal care to four people. Staff supported people in the least restrictive way possible, though documentation relating to decisions made in people's best interests was lacking. However, there were concerns about the quality of support provided. People were not always supported to pursue their interests and activities they enjoyed, and were not given maximum choice and control of their lives. Relatives provided mixed feedback about how well staff knew their family members. The service lacked effective governance to drive improvement, and processes were not in place to engage people, their relatives, and healthcare professionals in providing feedback about the service.
