About Marika House

Marika House is a residential care home in Hampshire, providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Marika House is a residential care home providing support to a small number of people with a learning disability and autistic people. Following a recent inspection prompted by a concern, the CQC rated the service as requires improvement, having previously been rated good. Inspectors found breaches relating to person centred care and governance, including gaps in healthy eating support and meaningful activities, and monitoring systems that had not caught these issues.

Staff were found to be caring and knowledgeable, medicines were managed safely, and recruitment and training met expectations. Relatives gave mixed feedback but were largely reassured by the new registered manager, who had already begun making improvements before and during the inspection.
