About Longrun House

Longrun House is a residential care home in Somerset providing personal care for people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Longrun House provides personal care for up to 17 people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. At inspection, 15 people were living at the home. Staff maintained a safe environment and people appeared comfortable and relaxed in their care.

When incidents occurred, lessons were learned and changes were made. Most relatives felt their family members were safe, though two had raised specific safety concerns that had been addressed with staff.

Communication with relatives was identified as an area needing improvement, which aligned with feedback from a recent relatives' survey. The relationship with three parents required strengthening to rebuild trust. Staff demonstrated knowledge of how to recognise and report potential abuse.

Individual risk assessments guided the provision of safe, personalised care and support for each person.
