Longlands

Longlands Care Home is a purpose-built facility providing personal and nursing care for up to 51 people, currently supporting 41 residents. The service cares for younger and older people, including those with sensory impairments, physical disabilities and dementia. Staff support people to have maximum choice and control of their lives, using the least restrictive approaches possible and acting in their best interests. However, systems and processes for overseeing the service were not always effective in identifying concerns or rectifying issues promptly. The home would benefit from reviewing staff training and understanding of the Mental Capacity Act principles to strengthen safeguarding practice.
