About Ashdown House

Ashdown House is a residential care home in West Northamptonshire, providing accommodation and personal care for older people. Details of the most recent CQC assessment are set out below.

Ashdown House, in West Northamptonshire, is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 24 people. At the time of the assessment 17 people were living there. The CQC rated the home requires improvement overall, a decline from its previous good rating, after finding three breaches of regulations relating to safe care, staffing and governance.

Inspectors found risks to people were not always properly assessed or managed, and not all staff had completed moving and handling training. Medicines management was unsafe, infection control gaps were identified, and staffing shortages sometimes affected how well people's needs were met. Despite this, people and relatives spoke positively about staff and did not raise safety concerns directly.
