Laurel Bank Residential Care Home

The home provides accommodation and personal care for 51 people across three floors, with bedrooms—some en-suite—and communal spaces including dining and lounge areas, adapted bathrooms, and secure outside space. The entrance had been redesigned as a safe space with hand-cleaning facilities and PPE access, with staff conducting risk assessments and temperature checks for visitors. Communal areas were reorganised to promote social distancing, and people were grouped accordingly. All areas were comfortable, homely, clean and well ventilated. The home supported remote professional assessments including speech and language therapy and deprivation of liberties safeguards assessments, and enabled relatives to maintain contact remotely when visits were not possible.
