Kingfisher Lodge

Kingfisher Lodge provides personal and nursing care to up to 60 people, including those with dementia, older and younger adults, and people with learning or physical disabilities. At inspection, 52 people were using the service. The home is spread across two floors with en-suite bedrooms, communal areas, and accessible garden space. Staff demonstrated good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and how to identify and report abuse. Risk assessments were in place for people at risk of falls and other identified dangers.

The manager had raised safeguarding concerns with the local authority and was actively working to improve medicines recording, which had not always been robust. Staffing levels were assessed using a dependency tool based on people's needs, though inspectors received mixed feedback about whether staffing was adequate.
