Holly Cottage

Holly Cottage is a care home supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory needs, with nine people living there at the time of assessment. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found care plans were sometimes contradictory, risks were not always identified, and mental capacity assessments did not always properly involve people or follow legal requirements.

The provider was in breach of regulations covering consent, safe care and governance.

Despite this, people told inspectors they felt safe and well cared for, describing staff as knowledgeable and kind. The home was clean, well-maintained, and staffing levels were adequate, with medicines managed well. People were supported to access the community and raise concerns confidently, and the provider had begun improving its governance systems.
