About Higher Park Lodge

Higher Park Lodge is a residential care home in Plymouth, offering support to older people, some of whom are living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Higher Park Lodge is a residential care home providing support to older people, some living with dementia, for up to 34 people. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found cleanliness and safety within the building had improved, and staffing, recruitment and dignity concerns identified previously had been resolved.

However, the provider remained in breach of regulations around premises maintenance, person-centred care and governance.

People told inspectors they felt safe and well cared for, and praised the cleanliness of the home. However, choice and personal preferences were not always respected, meals lacked options, and activities and opportunities to go out were limited. Staff training in dementia care and leaders' oversight of the service still needed further development.
