Heathbrook House Care Home

Heathbrook House provides personal and nursing care for up to 45 older people, including those with dementia. At inspection, 25 people lived there. Managerial oversight had improved since the previous visit in April 2022, though some quality and safety monitoring systems were not yet fully effective. The provider had taken action in response to feedback and established plans for continuous improvement. People thought their home was well managed, though relatives held mixed views on leadership. Recent management changes had left some staff feeling unsettled and unsupported, with plans underway to improve staff morale and ensure staff felt valued and heard.

Medicine management had improved, with people receiving their medicines when needed. The home took action after inspection to ensure staff followed current best practice guidance in this area. As occupancy increased, more time was needed to demonstrate that improvements were embedded and sustained in daily practice.
