Clarendon House

Clarendon House provides residential care and accommodation for up to 23 people aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia. On inspection, 21 people were residing at the home. Residents felt safe, with staff demonstrating clear understanding of safeguarding procedures and how to protect people from harm. Risk assessments were completed for all identified concerns, with appropriate management plans in place. Staffing levels were adequate to meet residents' needs and ensure their safety, and the home maintained safe procedures for managing medicines and preventing infection.

The new home manager showed strong commitment to delivering quality dementia care and was actively implementing initiatives to enhance residents' wellbeing. Staff working practices and new procedures were being embedded across the service. The provider and manager understood their regulatory responsibilities and had effective systems for monitoring and assessing service quality. Residents were supported to make choices about their care and daily lives, with staff working in the least restrictive way possible and in residents' best interests.
