Glencairn Residential Home

Glencairn Residential Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 23 people over 65, including those living with dementia or physical disabilities. The CQC previously found breaches relating to premises safety, medicines and governance, but this assessment found significant improvements had been made and embedded into everyday practice, resulting in an overall rating of Good.

Inspectors found the home clean, well staffed and calmly managed, with medicines handled safely and care plans reviewed regularly. Some gaps in mental capacity assessments were identified and addressed during the assessment. Relatives spoke positively about staff, the atmosphere and the approachable management team, though one raised concerns about narrow corridors affecting wheelchair access.
