Five Oaks

Five Oaks is a care home for older people with dementia and physical frailty, accommodating up to 43 residents. At inspection, 39 people were using the service. The home demonstrated strong infection control practices, with robust policies implemented across communal areas and staff trained in management procedures. Residents received support to maintain good infection control in their rooms, and regular COVID-19 testing was in place. The registered manager and support team worked cooperatively with external networks to minimise disease spread, whilst minimising use of agency staff to maintain continuity of care.

The building was clean and clutter-free, with communal areas arranged to enable social distancing between residents. Systems were established to isolate people when necessary to reduce transmission risk. Staff had received training on keeping people safe during the pandemic, demonstrating the home's commitment to protecting its vulnerable population.
