About Fairfield House

Fairfield House is a nursing home in Dorset, providing nursing care for older people, including some living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC inspection are set out below.

Fairfield House, in Dorset, is a nursing home providing personal and nursing care for up to 37 older people, some living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Good overall, prompted by concerns raised about safety and management. Inspectors found staff and leaders caring and compassionate, people protected from harm, and good involvement in care planning.

Some improvements were still needed. Risk assessments for certain higher risk medicines were incomplete, staffing levels overnight did not always meet people's individual needs, and some governance systems had not picked up shortfalls found during the assessment. The provider and registered manager responded quickly, and families gave positive feedback about staff kindness and recent improvements under current leadership.
