Escan Manor

Escan Manor is a nursing care home in Devon providing personal care for up to 72 people, including some living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, 34 people were living there. The CQC rated the home Good overall, an improvement from its previous Requires Improvement rating, after finding earlier breaches relating to safe care, safeguarding and governance had been addressed.

Inspectors found people were treated with kindness, dignity and respect, and relatives spoke highly of staff. However, a new breach was identified around failing to send statutory notifications, and feedback on staffing levels and involvement in care planning was mixed. Well-led was rated Requires Improvement, though the provider had strengthened oversight and had an improvement plan in place.
