Spring House

Spring House provides personal care and support for six people with learning disabilities and/or autism, including those with associated sensory, communication and physical needs. The home features six single occupancy apartments with communal spaces designed to meet residents' needs. Staff encourage independence, giving people budgets to choose their own food. One resident said, "It's exciting to get to pick my own food."

During inspection, inspectors observed positive interactions between people and staff, who treated residents with kindness and compassion. However, mental capacity assessments were not always carried out robustly to ensure people's safety, and risk assessments did not cover all identified issues. Staff supported people to have maximum choice and control of their lives using the least restrictive practices possible.
