About Deerlands

Deerlands is a residential care home in Sheffield, providing accommodation and support for older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

This service accommodates up to 40 older people, including those living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 32 residents were living there. Effective infection control systems were in place, with visitors required to follow PPE guidelines, undergo temperature checks, and answer screening questions.

Staff supervised essential visitors to maintain social distancing. The service had installed a visiting pod with a purpose-built screen to allow safer contact visits, with a separate entrance to the main home. People were also supported to maintain contact with relatives through video calls and window visits.

All staff received training in infection prevention and control practices, and inspectors observed staff wearing appropriate PPE with sufficient supplies available throughout the service.
