Deepdene Court

Deepdene Court provides care and support for autistic people and people with a learning disability. The home is rated Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found staff did not consistently protect people from abuse, risks were not always assessed or managed safely, and medicines were not always given safely.

Leadership and governance were weak, with breaches identified relating to safeguarding, safe care, notifications and management oversight.

People described staff as kind, though many mentioned frequent changes in staff and managers. Some people did not always feel safe, and opportunities for activities and community involvement were limited. Inspectors found the service did not fully reflect the principles of choice, control and independence expected for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
