Lobswood House

This residential care home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 26 people living with dementia or mental health needs, with 20 residents at the time of inspection. The management team and staff have made improvements to the standard of care and overall governance. Care plans are being reviewed and updated to accurately describe how each person should be supported, and staff demonstrate good knowledge of residents' needs. People are protected from avoidable harm through identified risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures are in place with staff aware of their duties.

Residents and relatives report feeling safe and well cared for by staff who know them well. One relative commented, "I can't tell you how pleased I've been. The person is absolutely safe." Medicines are managed safely and administered as prescribed. There are sufficient staff with appropriate skills and training to meet people's needs, with relatives noting consistency of care during transitions. Staff treat people with kindness, dignity and respect throughout their time at the home.
