Clarence House Care Home

Clarence House Care Home is a nursing home in Southend-on-Sea providing personal and nursing care to up to 78 adults, including people living with dementia or physical disabilities. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to staffing levels, oversight and safety. Inspectors identified environmental and infection control issues, and care plans and monitoring records that were not always accurate.

Feedback was mixed: some staff were described as kind and attentive, while others were task-focused with little social interaction offered. Relatives raised concerns about insufficient activities, staff shortages and complaints not being resolved satisfactorily. The provider had begun making improvements, though these had not yet been embedded.
