About Brighton Lodge

Brighton Lodge is a residential care home in Hampshire, providing accommodation and personal care for people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC's most recent findings on the service are set out below.

Brighton Lodge is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 9 people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC rated the home as Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to staff training, recruitment practices and governance. Inspectors found staff supervisions and appraisals had lapsed for a year and recruitment procedures were not always operated safely.

Despite this, people using the service said they felt safe and well supported, with enough staff on hand who understood their preferences. Inspectors observed positive, respectful interactions between staff and residents, and relatives were happy with the care provided. Choice, independence and dignity were encouraged throughout.
