Boars Tye House

Boars Tye Farm Residential Home provides personal care to up to 27 people in a single adapted building, with some residents living with dementia. At inspection, 23 people were using the service. While risk assessments and care plans existed, not all risks to people's safety and wellbeing had been identified or mitigated. People told inspectors they felt safe, but the systems in place did not always protect them from avoidable harm. Medicines were not always safely managed and people did not consistently receive their prescribed medications.

The home had systems to monitor service quality, though these had not identified the issues found during inspection. Concerns had not always been reported to appropriate bodies in a timely way. A complaints procedure was in place and complaints were being responded to. Staff supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, using the least restrictive practices possible and acting in their best interests, with policies in place to support this approach.
