Kilkee Lodge Residential Home

Kilkee Lodge provides accommodation with personal care for up to 80 people across a two-storey adapted building. At inspection, 76 people were being supported at the home.

Quality and safety audits had improved since the previous inspection, though further improvements were needed in several areas. Risk assessments for people's health and wellbeing had been completed and showed improvement, but there was insufficient oversight to ensure these were completed correctly. The home needed to strengthen its approach to hygiene oversight, refresher training, and the complaints process. Comments and concerns raised by residents and family members were not always recorded appropriately, which meant the home was missing opportunities to learn from feedback and make improvements.
