Birchwood House is a residential care home providing personal care for up to seven people with autism or a learning disability. At the time of inspection, four people were using the service across one building on two floors.

The service has effective fire safety arrangements in place. People are protected from fire risks, with well-maintained detection systems and fire safety equipment that are regularly checked. Staff are knowledgeable about fire safety procedures and have received appropriate training.

There are enough staff on duty to manage effectively in the event of an emergency.
