Astley Hall

Astley Hall is a residential and nursing home providing personal and nursing care to up to 83 people, with 55 residents at the time of inspection. People told inspectors they felt safe, with staff demonstrating knowledge of how to protect residents from harm. Individual risks were assessed and strategies were in place to mitigate these risks.

The service had made improvements in its oversight and management. Medicines were administered safely by trained and competent staff. However, quality assurance systems needed to be sustained and embedded to ensure consistent and reliable identification of shortfalls in record keeping practices.
