Ashwood Care Centre

Ashwood Care Centre provides nursing care for up to 70 older people, including those living with dementia, people with nursing needs, and those receiving end-of-life care. At inspection, 63 people were living at the service. Residents and their relatives reported feeling well supported, with care personalised to reflect individual needs and preferences. People were involved in planning their own care and able to make decisions about it.

Staff ensured medicines were administered safely and worked closely with other healthcare professionals to monitor and meet residents' needs. When people were being cared for at the end of their lives, external palliative care teams supported staff to help ensure comfort and pain management. Residents received adequate nutrition and hydration, and staff responded appropriately to any changes in people's health, condition, weight or wellbeing. Staff were well trained and supported in their roles.
