Amberley House - Plymouth

Amberley House provides accommodation and personal care for up to 42 adults, some living with dementia. At inspection, 40 people were living at the service. The management team demonstrated strong leadership during a COVID-19 outbreak, with daily oversight ensuring no staff shortages despite challenges. All shifts were covered by the service's own workforce working additional hours, with staff receiving overtime pay in recognition of their commitment. The registered manager noted that "all staff have been brilliant and covered all shifts without the use of agency, which has helped protect people." The service followed current guidance on visiting arrangements, enabling relatives to visit people receiving end-of-life care through a dedicated visitor pod, while maintaining appropriate safeguarding measures during the outbreak.
