Alston House

Alston House is a residential care home providing support to older people living with dementia. The CQC's rating has improved to good, with inspectors finding a strong learning culture, effective risk management and enough skilled, well-trained staff. Medicines were managed well, and an improvement plan was in place to address environmental repairs, though further work was needed to monitor people's health and wellbeing more closely.

People and relatives described kind, respectful care that supported dignity, choice and independence. Inspectors observed positive, attentive interactions with those unable to share their views directly. Leaders were visible and approachable, and people felt confident that feedback and concerns would be listened to and acted upon.
