Abbey Lea Care Home is a residential care home providing support to older people, including some living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Good overall, finding that people were kept safe, with enough trained staff on hand and risks managed in a way that involved people themselves in decisions about their own care.

Inspectors found people were treated with kindness and encouraged to remain independent, with choice and control over their daily lives. Families were included in care planning, and residents had timely access to professionals such as GPs and chiropodists. Abbey Lea Care Home is a residential care home. The service provides support to older people, including some who live with dementia. The assessment was completed on 30 January 2024. The service was previously rated 'Good'. The service remains 'Good'. We looked at 5 quality statements. People were safe. Staff had received training about how to safeguard people from abuse and the risk of abuse. Sufficient staff were employed to ensure people were supported safely. Risks were managed and people were involved in the management of these. People were well cared for. People were supported to maintain their independence. People were given choice and control over their day-to-day lives and the care they received. The service was responsive to people's needs. People received equity in their experiences and outcomes.
