Denison House Care Home

Denison House Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 31 adults living with dementia, mental health conditions and physical disabilities. At the time of the assessment, 26 people were living there. The CQC found the service had deteriorated since its last inspection, identifying breaches relating to governance and the safety of premises and equipment, alongside concerns about medicines management and person-centred care.

Most people and relatives described staff as kind, attentive and knowledgeable, and people felt safe and involved in their care. However, inspectors found limited daytime activity, a broken lift out of use since October 2023, and an unmaintained garden. A new manager had been welcomed, though frequent management changes had previously slowed improvements.
