Yew Tree Lodge

Yew Tree Lodge provides residential care for up to 16 people with mental health support needs, including three crisis beds. On the day of inspection, 10 people were using the service, many of whom had experienced hospital stays and required support to transition to community living. However, care plans and risk assessments lacked adequate information for staff to safely support people and manage their behaviours. People, relatives, and staff reported that staff training was insufficient for their specific needs, and staff felt unsupported by management when raising concerns. Staff also indicated they could not spend enough time with residents. The service had failed to implement improvements required at a previous inspection in January 2019, leaving people at risk of harm. Effective management systems were absent, with inadequate oversight of risk management and care quality.
