About Wyncroft House

Wyncroft House is a nursing care home in Dudley, offering a place where residents can feel looked after and at home. The team there works to create a familiar, comfortable environment for those in their care, and families are always welcome to come and see the home for themselves.

Wyncroft House provides nursing and personal care to up to 38 people with dementia and complex health care needs. During the inspection, 19 people were using the service.

Significant concerns were identified regarding medicines management and care practices. Care plans contained contradictory information about wound management, and topical creams were not consistently applied as prescribed. There were no processes to monitor pain relief medicines to ensure they remained in place.

Additionally, appropriate recruitment checks were not carried out, with several staff files showing gaps in employment history and missing risk assessments for certain candidates.
