Wykeham House

Wykeham House provides nursing and personal care to up to 76 older people, including those living with dementia and mental health conditions. The service operates across four separate wings with adapted facilities, one specialising in dementia care. At inspection, 70 people were using the service.

Staff investigate incidents and accidents individually, making changes to care plans to manage risk. However, there is a lack of oversight of trends across the service to identify wider improvements. Records of Do Not Attempt Resuscitation decisions are not always clear or consistent, with DNAR forms not always aligned with colour-coded systems and staff handover information, creating potential risks in emergencies. People and relatives raised concerns about weekend staffing levels, though inspectors found staffing adequate to meet needs. Quality assurance processes require strengthening to provide better managerial oversight and drive service improvements.
