Winscombe Care Home

Winscombe Care Home is a residential care home supporting older people and those living with mental health conditions, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and dementia. The CQC found the service requires improvement. Medicines were not always managed or stored safely, care plans contained conflicting information, and consent decisions did not always follow Mental Capacity Act requirements.

Activities and community opportunities were limited.

Inspectors found people were not always protected from harm and care was not consistently person centred or dignified. The provider was in breach of regulations covering safe care, safeguarding, consent, staffing and governance. Staff and relatives spoke positively about leadership, and the provider responded quickly with an action plan after concerns were raised.
