Wingates Residential Home

Wingates Residential Home is a residential care home providing support to older people and younger adults. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches of six legal regulations covering person-centred care, consent and mental capacity, medicines, modified diets, premises safety, staff training and governance. Care plans lacked detail, consent was not always properly recorded, and audits had failed to catch or address these problems promptly.

Despite this, inspectors found people and relatives spoke warmly of staff, describing them as caring, friendly and attentive, with enough support available day to day. The new manager and assistant manager were open about inherited shortfalls and had begun making improvements, which residents and families had already noticed and welcomed.
