Whitehall Lodge Residential Home

Whitehall Lodge provides personal and nursing care to up to 29 people aged over 65 and adults under 65, with 24 residents at the time of inspection. People felt safe in the home and staff demonstrated good understanding of safeguarding procedures. Individual risks to residents and environmental hazards were identified and managed appropriately. Staff were safely recruited and received ongoing training and support to carry out their roles.

While staff involved people in decisions about their care and sought permission before treatment, mental capacity assessments were not conducted in line with current guidance and legislation. The home had systems to monitor and assess service quality, but these checks lacked a regular schedule. The provider maintained minimal oversight of the service. Residents had access to community engagement and activities within the home, and medicines were managed safely.
