Whitegates Care Home

Whitegates Care Home accommodates up to 20 older people across two floors, accessible by stairs or stair lift. At inspection, 11 people were living there. Residents felt safe and reported that staff understood their individual needs well. Care plans were personalised and centred around each person, with staff working to help people achieve their personal outcomes and maintain independence.

The home supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff using the least restrictive practices. However, the registered manager acknowledged that the limited number of planned activities available within the home was an area needing development, and inspectors recommended expanding the activities offered to residents.
