Whetstone Grange

Whetstone Grange provides residential care and support for older people, including those with health and personal care needs. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement, finding breaches relating to safe care and treatment and governance. Inspectors found risks to people's health and safety were not consistently managed, medicines storage was unsafe, staff lacked some training, and audits failed to identify or address problems.

Care plans were detailed but people did not always receive the personalised support promised, and there was little activity beyond watching television. Most staff were kind and responsive, and people and relatives generally spoke positively about care and staffing levels. There was no registered manager in post at the time, though a new manager has since been appointed and improvements were underway.
