Westin Care Home

Westin Care Home is a nursing home providing personal and nursing care to up to 52 people, supporting older people, those with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. The service is arranged across two floors with communal facilities including dining, lounging and bathroom areas on each unit. Bedrooms are accessible by lift, stairs or stair-lift, and there is level access to the garden from the ground floor.

However, inspectors found significant concerns with infection prevention and control practices, placing people at increased risk from the spread of infection. There were also gaps in risk assessment and management, which meant people faced increased risk of avoidable harm. The provider had not implemented a robust approach to these critical safety areas.
