Westgate House provides personal and nursing care to 67 people, with capacity for up to 80. Some residents live with dementia. People and relatives said they felt safe at the home, and staff understood safeguarding procedures and how to report accidents and incidents.

Risk assessments were in place for each person and updated as needed to inform care reviews. Staff supported residents to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

The home was staffed adequately with safely recruited staff who managed medicines appropriately. The premises were clean and odour-free, with staff following safe infection control practices and additional pandemic-related safety measures in place.
