Westerleigh

Westerleigh provides personal care for up to 55 people aged mainly 65 and over, with 50 people supported at the time of inspection. The service operates across three floors and supports people with various conditions including dementia. The home has experienced difficulties with medicine management since 2021, though the senior management team is now proactively addressing these issues.

People felt safe at the home. Staff demonstrated understanding of people's needs and how to manage presenting risks during conversations with inspectors. However, many risk assessments in the electronic care records had not been completed, and those in place required greater accuracy and detail. The management team and staff are working to improve this documentation.
