Waterloo House

Waterloo House is a residential care home providing personal care and accommodation for up to 19 people experiencing severe and enduring mental health conditions. Following a responsive assessment prompted by safeguarding concerns, the CQC found seven breaches of regulations, covering safeguarding, safe care, consent, staffing, person-centred care, notifications and governance. Care records did not always reflect people's needs, staffing levels could not be assured as sufficient, and management systems failed to identify these shortfalls.

The home remains rated Requires Improvement.

Despite this, people living at the home and their relatives spoke positively about staff and the registered manager, describing feeling safe, well cared for and confident raising concerns. Inspectors rated caring and responsiveness as good, though safety, effectiveness and leadership all require improvement.
